The 1st Academic Department Board Meeting of 2026 for the Department of Mathematics and Science Education was held on February 12, 2026. The meeting was chaired by the Head of the Department, Prof. Dr. Mustafa BAHŞİ, with the broad participation of the department's faculty members.
Quality assurance and continuous improvement processes came to the forefront during the meeting, where educational activities and the strategic goals of the department were evaluated. In this context, the activities of the 2025-2026 Academic Year Fall Semester and the decisions taken in the previous meeting were reviewed in detail. The efficiency of the student-advisor meetings, which constitute an important part of our student-oriented educational approach, was discussed, and whether the program outcomes reached the intended levels in line with our educational goals was meticulously analyzed.
In line with the global goals of our department, the internationalization status for the year 2025 on a program basis was also discussed by the board, and strategies for increasing visibility in this area in the upcoming period were evaluated. Additionally, department and program-based commissions were updated to ensure that the academic and administrative operations of the department are carried out more efficiently.
The meeting concluded after the faculty members shared their wishes and suggestions regarding the future vision and academic endeavors of the department. We hope that the decisions taken will be beneficial for our department, our academicians, and our students.
